[edit]The original article has mysteriously disappeared and I do not care to waste my time repeating it, as I see it as an abuse of Wiki´s "deletion policies". It was based on a very personal CV that came to my knowledge some years ago and reflected only facts. I have met Kallenberg decades ago when he was still in Sweden, which does not make him one of my friends or more worthy of a campaign than say Hannes Alfvén or other people or things I happen to know of. :( Kurtan 12:48, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
I have now understood it being a work (13 June 2006) of User:CambridgeBayWeather on the plea of NN, without any deletion decision or previous notice whatsoever. So it would be nice to have it restored, thank you. / Kurtan 10:42, 21 June 2006 (UTC)
Deletion proposal
[edit]Regret not having spent time watching this article. Cannot understand the allusions to potentially libelous material, but I understand JINSOO himself has removed unwanted personal details, which I then abstain from sourcing. As for the deletion concern I cannot see why such an academic success story with books and some 70 peer reviewed articles published would not be notable enough for inclusion in wikipedia?? Kurtan 00:13, 23 November 2006 (UTC)
- Jinsoo is actually Olav's wife, but they mailed OTRS jointly. I am inferring that Olav used his wife's account to perform the modifications. The Notable Wikipedian template is possibly misused in this instance, but it's the best solution at this time. If you're going to watch this article, please try to make sure that others are aware that the subject of the article is very sensitive to it and would much prefer it be deleted entirely than corrected: Let's not give them a reason to request it again. :) ~Kylu (u|t) 06:22, 28 November 2006 (UTC)
Frankly most tenure faculty, at a reputable reseach university in the sciences, would over the course of a 20 year period ,would likeley have 50 or more peer reviewed papers a year. Since most reputable journals require a peer review process for publication, and many professors publish 3-6 papers in a year.
- (Putting aside the fact that you appear to contradict yourself with "likely have 50+ a year" and "many publish 3-6 a year", but perhaps I'm just misunderstanding) Would that kind of statistic apply to tenured faculty who also teach, write papers of that length, and put out the same rate of books of that length and depth? Delete distracting notice about multiple issues
[edit]Olav Kallenberg is one of the world's leading (theoretical) probabilists, who was entrusted for years with editing the world's leading journals of probability. His two latest Springer books are widely used and referenced. His research on exchangeability and invariance of stochastic processes has been extraordinarily important. There is no question that he is a notable academic and mathematician.
IMHO, having the "several issues" banner still appearing serves no purpose. Kiefer.Wolfowitz (talk) 19:37, 13 March 2010 (UTC)
- I removed the banner after rewriting the article. Kiefer.Wolfowitz (talk) 19:59, 13 March 2010 (UTC)
